Responsibilities For KP-SAM Code Development Engineer

  • Assist KP-SAM IET validation efforts by working with senior code developer
  • Lead the development of multiple dimensional models such as 2-D pebble bed porous media model
  • Provide support for Safety Analysis team and Licensing Team
  • Support code maintaining and SQA related tasks
  • Support validation and analysis tasks

Requirements For KP-SAM Code Development Engineer

Python
Linux
  • MS or PhD in Nuclear Engineer or similar field
  • Knowledge of nuclear reactor system analysis, specifically molten salt cooled systems
  • Ability to create new TH models and implement into systems code
  • Experience with systems analysis codes (SAM or RELAP)
  • Experience with DOE MOOSE framework
  • Software development skills in C++ and Python
  • Experience in numerical methods
  • Familiar with Git, Github, latex, Linux/Mac OS
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
