Job Description

KBR is seeking a Software Engineer/Developer to join their National Security Solutions team in Albuquerque, NM. This role supports the Air Force Research Laboratory's Space Vehicles Directorate (ARFL/RV), developing and transitioning space-based technologies. The position involves creating modeling & simulation capabilities for space systems, working with cutting-edge defense technologies, and contributing to national security initiatives.

The ideal candidate will work on innovative projects at the intersection of space research and software development, using languages like C++ and Python to develop sophisticated modeling and simulation systems. You'll collaborate with government and industry leaders, analyzing space systems including SATCOM, GPS, and GNSS.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer/Developer

  • Perform software design and development in C++
  • Collaborate with customers and systems engineers to develop requirements
  • Research trends for concept designs and translate to detailed software models
  • Provide technical engineering support to analysis projects
  • Conduct modeling and simulation study and analysis support
  • Analyze test data on space systems and compare to M&S results
  • Support modeling and simulation for space systems
  • Lead or manage aspects of projects
  • Meet regularly with customer and provide status updates

Requirements For Software Engineer/Developer

Python
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM discipline
  • 1-3 years of programming experience with C++, Python, Matlab, and Visual Basic
  • Experience in system architecting, modeling, simulation, and analysis
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Ability to build, integrate and troubleshoot software components
  • Ability to analyze technical findings/data
  • Active TS/SCI clearance preferred
