Khan Academy is seeking a Sr. Fullstack Engineer II to join our Assessments Experience Product team. As a Sr. Fullstack Engineer II, you'll be responsible for building and maintaining scalable backend services and complex frontend user interfaces. You'll lead technical projects, write clean and maintainable code, and contribute to our mission of transforming education. We're particularly interested in candidates with experience in building learning or assessment experiences, and familiarity with Generative AI and LLMs is a plus.
We offer a competitive salary range of $165,500 - $201,250 USD, along with comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) with 4% matching, generous parental leave, and ample paid time off. Responsibilities For Sr. Fullstack Engineer II, Assessments Experience Product
- Building and maintaining scalable backend services
- Building complex, stateful frontend user interfaces
- Leading technical projects
- Writing clean, maintainable, testable code
- Integrating state-of-the-art learning science into the product
- Partnering with public school districts to scale teacher and learner tools
- Building tools for teachers to use Khan Academy as a strategic supplement in classrooms
- Harnessing the power of AI to deliver product capabilities
Requirements For Sr. Fullstack Engineer II, Assessments Experience Product
- 8+ years experience building world-class product experiences for an interactive web-app
- Experience building and maintaining scalable backend services and complex frontend user interfaces
- Prior experience building a learning or assessments experience (using Generative AI / LLMs a plus)
- Strong technical project management skills
- Experience building user interfaces with accessibility in mind (a plus)
- Strong communication skills and desire to give and receive regular feedback
- Empathy for learners around the world
