Job Description

LangChain, a pioneering company in the AI development space, is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer to focus on Enterprise Readiness & Identity. This role is crucial for building and maintaining the secure, compliant, and scalable foundation of their enterprise platform.

The position sits at the intersection of authentication, authorization, billing, security, compliance, and tenant management. As a senior engineer, you'll be working with a newly formed team and will have significant impact on shaping the enterprise offerings. The role requires collaboration across multiple teams including infrastructure, product, and go-to-market, as well as direct interaction with major enterprise users.

LangChain's mission is to make intelligent agents ubiquitous, and their open source frameworks - LangChain and LangGraph - are already seeing impressive adoption with over 70 million downloads monthly. Their commercial agent platform, comprising LangSmith and LangGraph Platform, enables organizations to build, test, run, and manage agents at scale.

The ideal candidate will bring strong expertise in backend engineering with Python or Go, deep knowledge of authentication and identity standards, and experience with enterprise-grade systems. You'll be responsible for implementing critical systems including SAML, SCIM, OAuth2, SSO integrations, and developing robust access control models. The role also involves building billing infrastructure and ensuring compliance with various regulatory requirements.

This is an in-person position available in three major tech hubs: New York City, San Francisco, or Boston, requiring 5 days per week office presence. The compensation package is competitive, ranging from $160,000 to $195,000, plus equity and benefits, aligned with experience and company stage.

For engineers passionate about building secure, scalable enterprise solutions and interested in working at the forefront of AI development, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a significant impact in a fast-growing startup environment. The position combines technical challenges in security and infrastructure with the opportunity to shape enterprise-grade features for a cutting-edge AI platform.
