Job Description

LekkeSlaap, South Africa's premier accommodation booking platform, is seeking a Systems Engineer to join their team in a hybrid work arrangement based in Cape Town. As part of Tripco, a leading travel technology company, you'll play a crucial role in designing, building, and operating core infrastructure across on-premises and cloud environments.

The role combines DevOps engineering with systems reliability, requiring expertise in infrastructure automation, security implementation, and performance optimization. You'll be responsible for maintaining high-availability systems, implementing robust CI/CD pipelines, and ensuring the scalability of their e-commerce platform. The position offers an excellent opportunity to work with modern technologies including Docker, Infrastructure-as-Code tools, and various observability platforms.

The ideal candidate should have 3-5+ years of experience in systems or infrastructure engineering, with strong Linux administration skills and cloud platform knowledge. You'll be working with a tech stack that includes PHP, Python, and various HashiCorp tools, while managing MySQL/MariaDB and Redis databases.

The company offers an attractive benefits package including medical aid, retirement contributions, flexible work arrangements, and a digital nomad program. The hybrid work model requires two days in their V&A Waterfront office, where you'll enjoy perks like free lunch and parking. LekkeSlaap's commitment to work-life balance is evident in their generous leave policy and focus on professional development through learning budgets and conference opportunities.

This role is perfect for a systems engineer who wants to make a significant impact in the travel technology sector while working with a modern tech stack and enjoying excellent benefits. The position offers both technical challenges and opportunities for growth in a company that's leading the South African travel booking market.
