Lightspeed LA, the first U.S.-based AAA game development studio for Tencent Games, is seeking a Gameplay Engineer to join their team in Irvine, California. Responsibilities For Gameplay Engineer

  • Design, implement, and support quality gameplay systems and features
  • Collaborate directly with engineers, designers, artists and animators
  • Author lean, high-performance, maintainable code
  • Actively profile and optimize gameplay features
  • Participate in testing and documentation of game systems
  • Help build and maintain an open team culture

Requirements For Gameplay Engineer

  • 3+ years of professional game programming experience
  • Experience bringing large-scale game title to completion on PC and consoles
  • Expert in C++, debugging, and 3D math
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Experience with AAA proprietary engines or Unreal and Unity (preferred)
  • Experience with game console hardware (preferred)
  • Understanding of game asset pipelines (preferred)
  • Knowledge of animation, physics or game AI (preferred)
