Our client is an Australian-based company that has built workflow and automation software for mortgage brokers and is majority-owned by Australian Finance Group, a public company. It was developed by a top-producing mortgage broker, for mortgage brokers who want to write more business in less time and with less stress.
They are currently growing their remote team in the Philippines, and they are looking for a skilled, driven, and motivated Senior Backend Software Engineer to play a key role in their development team and be an integral part of their growth.
Key responsibilities include:
- Participating in Lean / Agile / Scrum events and daily standup meetings
- Collaborating closely with team members and utilizing Github for version control
- Developing and maintaining the backend platform on AWS
- Implementing software solutions and new features from concept to implementation
- Creating and managing pull requests for code review
- Documenting architecture and codebase
The ideal candidate should have:
- Bachelor's Degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
- 1 to 5 years of experience in software engineering
- Strong experience with NodeJS, Javascript, and AWS native stack
- Knowledge of Domain Driven Design, Microservices, and RESTful APIs
- Excellent English communication skills and ability to work in an Agile environment

Responsibilities For Senior Backend Software Engineer (AWS AND NODE)
- Participate in Lean / Agile / Scrum events
- Attend daily standup meetings
- Monitor Agile board for assigned tasks
- Collaborate closely with key team members
- Utilize Github for version control and collaboration
- Initiate work on assigned cards/tasks
- Complete software developments according to requirements
- Create and manage pull requests for code review and actively participate in code reviews
- Address and fix bugs identified during development
- Develop and maintain backend platform on a daily basis
- Implement software solutions on cloud platforms such as AWS
- Document architecture and codebase for future reference
- Work on projects involving multiple services and technologies
- Develop new features from concept to implementation
- Foster collaboration and good communication within the team for efficient workflow
Requirements For Senior Backend Software Engineer (AWS AND NODE)
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering or related
- At least 1 to 5 years of experience in software engineering
- Experience utilizing NodeJS and Javascript for backend development
- Knowledgeable in AWS native stack such as: API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo, RDS etc.
- Knowledgeable with Domain Driven Design, Microservices, RESTful APIs
- Ability to work on an Agile / Scrum environment
- Strong documentation skills and experience with any of the following: Confluence, Jira, GitHub, and VSCode
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal
- Can effectively collaborate and communicate with the team
