Azure Global Black Belt (GBB) Mainframe Migration & Modernization Solution Engineer

As part of Microsoft's Commercial Solution Area (CSA), the Azure Global Black Belt (GBB) Infrastructure Solution Engineer plays a pivotal role in driving digital transformation for our most strategic enterprise customers. This role is specifically focused on Mainframe Migration and Modernisation to Azure, requiring deep technical expertise in legacy systems (e.g., IBM z/OS, AS/400) and their transformation into scalable, cloud-native architectures on Azure.

The role involves leading technical engagements, removing roadblocks, and influencing strategic decisions at the CxO level. You will also contribute to the development of repeatable IPs, reference architectures, and solution accelerators tailored to mainframe workloads.

Key responsibilities include:

• Engaging deeply with customers to understand their legacy environments and design Azure-based solutions
• Building trusted relationships with CIOs, CTOs, and enterprise architects
• Addressing challenges related to mainframe integration, data migration, and workload compatibility
• Demonstrating Azure's differentiation in mainframe modernisation
• Developing and sharing mainframe-specific solution accelerators
• Providing structured feedback to influence Azure product development
• Enabling field teams through technical briefings
• Publishing thought leadership content and presenting at industry events

The ideal candidate will have 5-7 years of experience leading large-scale cloud engagements, deep expertise in IBM mainframe environments, and strong knowledge of Azure migration tools. The role requires excellent executive presence, collaborative leadership skills, and the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
