Job Description

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Network Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

The position involves network design and operations work to enhance the availability and scalability of the CE Network, participating in on-call DRI rotation, and handling complex incident management. Working with a global portfolio of 200+ datacenters across 32 countries, you'll support services for over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.

Key responsibilities include performing technical analysis, leading network architecture design, installing and maintaining network hardware/software, and monitoring system state. You'll work with technologies like MPLS/BGP, routing, switching, SDN/NFV, and EVPN VXLAN.

Responsibilities For Cloud Network Engineer

  • Perform technical analysis and lead network architecture design
  • Install, upgrade, and maintain network hardware and software
  • Participate in on-call DRI rotation
  • Monitor network system state using SNMP, Sflow/netflow, and Telemetry
  • Collaborate with IT staff and business personnel
  • Handle Layer 3 technologies including IPv4, BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, IPv6, HSRP, and VRRP

Requirements For Cloud Network Engineer

  • 5+ years technical experience in network design, development, and automation
  • Experience with network authentication systems (TACACS+, Cisco ISE, Duo)
  • Industry certifications (CCNP or CCIE Route & Switch)
  • Knowledge of enterprise networking solutions (MPLS/BGP, routing, switching, SDN/NFV, EVPN VXLAN)
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check
