Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environments Field Service Engineer to join their dynamic team. This role is crucial in maintaining and optimizing Microsoft's vast infrastructure of over 100 datacenters and 1 million servers worldwide. The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology while supporting services that impact over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses across 90+ countries.

The role combines technical expertise in data center operations with critical environment management. You'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of Edge datacenter facilities, working closely with landlord partners and engineering teams. The position requires a blend of technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical systems, along with strong project management and communication skills.

Responsibilities For CO+I Edge Critical Environments Field Service Engineer

  • Ensures compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Manages CE programs associated with area of responsibility
  • Delivers new Edge Datacenters with partners
  • Maximize Critical Environment availability in conjunction with landlord partners
  • Oversee day-to-day operations and maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment
  • Act as an escalation point for facilities-related issues
  • Coordinate and supervise CE audits and compliance verification
  • Work with regional and global peers to share and build best CE practices

Requirements For CO+I Edge Critical Environments Field Service Engineer

Linux
  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 2+ years experience supporting IT equipment
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • 3+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures preferred
  • Bachelor's Degree or Technical College certification in mechanical or electrical engineering preferred
  • Experience working on large scale CE projects
  • Experience with the operation of IT infrastructure
