Description For Critical Environment Senior Electrical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) division is seeking a Critical Environment Senior Electrical Engineer to join their team responsible for powering Microsoft's global cloud infrastructure. This role is integral to maintaining and optimizing the company's vast network of over 200 datacenters across 32 countries, supporting major services like Azure, Office 365, Xbox, and Bing.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge datacenter technology while supporting services that impact over 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide. The role combines technical expertise in electrical engineering with critical infrastructure management, requiring both hands-on technical skills and strategic thinking.

As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you'll be responsible for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of datacenter electrical systems, working with commissioning teams, and maintaining safety and compliance standards. The role offers competitive compensation ranging from $117,200 to $229,200 per year (higher in SF and NYC areas), along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and parental leave.

The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of technical engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree or 3+ years with a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field. Responsibilities For Critical Environment Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in all aspect of data center activities
  • Work with commissioning teams to test and validate installation, operation, and performance of electrical systems
  • Understand the design and functionality of datacenter
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenters operations and electrical infrastructure
  • Act as technical authority for on-site operations related to large-scale mission critical electrical system
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance and safety procedures
  • Managing electrical infrastructures throughout datacenter campus

Requirements For Critical Environment Senior Electrical Engineer

  • Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 3+ years technical engineering experience
  • OR Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field AND 5+ years technical engineering experience
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
