Description For Data Center Energy Resource Manager

Microsoft is seeking a Data Center Energy Resource Manager to join their team in Quincy, Washington. This role focuses on reducing stranded capacity by being a key member of the local team in the deployment planning and optimization of IT deployments. Working closely with Electrical Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Critical Environment Field Service Engineers, you will validate all deployments for optimal efficiency of space with a heavy emphasis on Electrical and Cooling availability.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Ensuring compliance with data center business units and service-level policies
  • Managing programs associated with area of responsibility
  • Raising risks to IT capacity allocation and planning
  • Leading programs and projects through leadership forums
  • Performing troubleshooting for service incidents
  • Managing relationships with clients and suppliers
  • Collaborating with Subject Matter Experts across CO+I and engineering groups
  • Providing mentorship across data centers for specific expertise

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in a relevant field and 5+ years of experience in Critical Environment infrastructures or working in physical IT infrastructures. Applicable certifications such as APICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, or CDCP are preferred.

This role offers a competitive salary range of $80,000 - $159,600 per year, with higher ranges for specific locations like the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area. Requirements For Data Center Energy Resource Manager

Linux
  • High School Qualification or equivalent AND 2+ years critical environment experience supporting IT equipment or related technology or delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter
  • Bachelor's or Technical College Degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, Supply Chain Management or related field (preferred)
  • 5+ years experience in Critical Environment infrastructures or working in physical IT infrastructures (preferred)
  • Applicable certifications: APICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA, Microsoft, Network Certifications, PMP, ITIL, CDCP (preferred)
  • Energy Marshall experience (preferred)
