Job Description

Microsoft Security is seeking a Data Security Solution Engineer to join their team in London, focusing on making the world a safer place through innovative security solutions. The position involves spending up to 75% of work hours on qualified customer work, including planning, preparation, and delivering technical presentations, demos, trials, POCs, and workshops. The remaining time is dedicated to maintaining and expanding technical expertise, industry knowledge, and competitive intelligence.

As a Solution Engineer, you'll be the primary technical point of contact during the sales process, owning and driving technical wins for data security opportunities. You'll work with Microsoft Purview, implementing solutions for data classification, sensitivity labeling, encryption policies, insider risk management, and data loss prevention (DLP).

Key responsibilities include acting as a trusted advisor to customers, leading proof-of-concepts, conducting architecture reviews, and collaborating closely with sales, engineering, and product teams. You'll need to stay current with the latest security trends and Microsoft technologies while developing strategies to improve clients' security posture.

The role requires a blend of technical expertise and customer-facing skills, with a focus on delivering Microsoft's strategic business priorities in cloud services and platforms. You'll work in a hybrid environment with up to 50% work from home flexibility and 25-50% travel requirements.

Responsibilities For Data Security Solution Engineer

  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, helping them secure sensitive data and meet compliance requirements
  • Design and implement data security solutions using Microsoft Purview
  • Lead proof-of-concepts and architecture reviews
  • Work closely with sales, engineering, and product teams
  • Develop strategies to improve client's security posture
  • Lead technical presentations, demonstrations, and workshops
  • Coordinate with sellers and managers to prioritize opportunities

Requirements For Data Security Solution Engineer

  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Technical pre-sales or technical consulting experience
  • Experience with developing and delivering customer demos/proof of concepts for Security
  • Industry certifications such as CISSP, CCSP (preferred)
  • Deep technical understanding of Microsoft security architectures
  • Strong customer engagement and presentation skills
