Description For Mechanical Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to join their team responsible for powering cloud services across their global infrastructure. This role is integral to maintaining and developing Microsoft's extensive network of over 200 datacenters spread across 32 countries, serving more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses worldwide.

The position offers a unique opportunity to work with cutting-edge datacenter technology and infrastructure, focusing on environmental sustainability and optimization. Responsibilities For Mechanical Engineer

  • Learn, grow, and develop new skills
  • Empower a culture of safety, security, and compliance in data center activities
  • Understand the design and functionality of datacenter
  • Support 24x7x365 on-site datacenter operations and mechanical infrastructures
  • Act as technical authority for on-site operations of large-scale mechanical systems
  • Collaborate with Operations and Design team for datacenter mechanical designs
  • Establish and coordinate maintenance & safety procedures
  • Steward vital infrastructure supporting Microsoft's online services
  • Assist with supplier selection and overseeing mechanical supplier execution
  • Lead through change by bringing clarity, generating energy, and delivering success

Requirements For Mechanical Engineer

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire and every two years
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements
