Principal Software Engineer – Cloud and Enterprise Security - defender for AI

The role is within the Microsoft Defender for Cloud Security for AI team, which is at the forefront of innovation, developing cutting-edge security products and services that set new industry standards. This team is responsible for cloud-native application protection for AI, unifying security of development operations (DevSecOps), implementing cloud security posture management (CSPM), and employing cloud workload protection platform (CWPP) to detect, alert, and respond to real-time cyber-attacks worldwide.

As a Principal Engineering Manager, you'll work with a diverse team of talented professionals, including software engineers, security researchers, program managers, and data scientists. You'll be responsible for leading end-to-end design and implementation of services and features, following industry best practices and adhering to high security standards. The role requires collaboration with partner groups, product management, and research teams to deliver exceptional products.

The ideal candidate brings 12+ years of hands-on engineering experience, with 8+ years specifically in large-scale cloud applications and distributed systems. You should have 3+ years of experience in a senior/principal technical lead role, along with a strong educational background in Computer Science or Software Engineering. Experience with security/cyber domains, AI development, and the Azure cloud environment is highly valued.
