Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is seeking a Senior Silicon Engineer to join their Data Processing Unit team. This role is crucial in validating silicon solutions for datacenter problems and involves working with the architecture team to develop programmable silicon implementations.
The position offers an opportunity to work on Microsoft's expanding Cloud Infrastructure, powering over 200 online businesses including Azure, Office 365, Xbox Live, and Teams. As a Senior Silicon Engineer specializing in ASIC verification, you'll be responsible for validating complex silicon implementations and ensuring high-quality outcomes for datacenter solutions.
The role combines both breadth and depth of technical expertise, offering exposure to various domains while allowing deep diving into complex engineering problems. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in silicon validation, using UVM/C test benches, and participating in both pre-silicon and post-silicon validation phases.
Key responsibilities include leading functional validation of complex ASIC SOC, developing comprehensive test plans, and working closely with cross-functional teams. Responsibilities For Senior Silicon Engineer
- Lead key components of functional validation of complex ASIC SOC using UVM/C test bench
- Perform pre-silicon SoC verification, post-silicon validation
- Work with cross functional teams for project execution
- Develop test plan, C tests and infrastructure
- Running tests, debugging failures, creating stress and performance scenarios
- Actively participate in chip bring up and write test firmware
- Innovate to improve validation efficiency through methodologies and tools
- Coach and mentor others in your areas of expertise
Requirements For Senior Silicon Engineer
- Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field AND 1+ year(s) technical engineering experience OR Master's Degree AND 4+ years experience OR Bachelor's Degree AND 5+ years experience
- 4+ years of experience in pre-silicon validation
- 4+ years of experience in UVM/C verification methodology
- 4+ years of experience with functional validation of complex ASIC SOC
- Knowledge of Ethernet, TCP/IP, ROCEv2, MAC/PCS, Networking NIC/Switches
- Understanding of processors and peripheral interconnect bus protocols and architectures
- Self-motivated and able to work effectively both independently and in a team
