Job Description

Microsoft Silicon, Cloud Hardware, and Infrastructure Engineering (SCHIE) is seeking a Senior Silicon Firmware Engineer to join their silicon libraries firmware team. This role is part of the Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering team, focusing on firmware architecture, development, integration, and quality assurance for cutting-edge compute SoCs.

The position involves developing low-level silicon firmware code for mesh interconnects, working closely with architecture, design, verification, and software teams. You'll work in pre-silicon environments, enable design verification workloads, and handle firmware integration and releases to partners.

Requirements For Senior Silicon Firmware Engineer

Linux
  • Doctorate in EE/CE/CS + 1 year experience OR Master's + 4 years experience OR Bachelor's + 5 years experience
  • Background in Computer Architecture, embedded systems, RTOS, and validation principles
  • Experience in low level firmware and microcode development cycle
  • Must pass Microsoft Cloud Background Check
  • Good understanding of modern software development
  • Experience developing firmware for standard hardware interfaces (SPI, DDR, USB, PCIe, I2C)
  • Experience with Pre-/Post-Silicon environments and methodologies
