Job Description

Microsoft's Windows Cloud division is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer to enhance the Windows Cloud platform, Windows 365 Cloud PC, and Azure Virtual Desktop services. These platforms have been recognized as leaders in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Desktop as a Service (DaaS) for two consecutive years. The role focuses on developing automation solutions for complex operational tasks, ensuring service reliability, and driving continuous improvement.

As an SRE, you'll be instrumental in service design, developing code and tools to reduce operational burden, and enabling feature teams to safely deploy changes. You'll analyze telemetry data for capacity planning, identify patterns, and implement automation for monitoring Windows Cloud services. The position includes on-call rotations for incident resolution and requires proactive problem-solving to prevent issue recurrence.

The ideal candidate brings 6+ years of technical experience in software engineering or systems administration. You'll work in a hybrid environment (up to 50% work from home) in Hyderabad, with 0-25% travel required. Responsibilities For Senior Site Reliability Engineer

  • Design, develop, and deliver software engineering solutions to automate complex operational tasks
  • Own deployment, availability, reliability, performance, and customer escalation targets for Critical Environment Telemetry solutions
  • Proactively identify and reduce issues through design, testing, and implementation
  • Collaborate with Engineering and Product Management partners on architectural designs and feature releases
  • Drive efficiencies through software improvement and root cause analysis
  • Work within a team to deliver system improvements and scale them

Requirements For Senior Site Reliability Engineer

  • 6+ years technical experience in software engineering, network engineering, or systems administration
  • Bachelor's/Master's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • Pass Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years
