Senior Software Engineer - MAI Data, Privacy, and Security, Microsoft AI - Copilot

Microsoft is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their MAI Data, Privacy, and Security team focusing on Microsoft AI Copilot. This role sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence and security, working on cutting-edge challenges in AI security and privacy.

The position involves building and securing systems that make it safe to incorporate more data and functionality into AI systems. You'll be responsible for identifying risk areas and designing solutions for Copilot's security, including secure coding standards, API design, sandboxing, automated testing/fuzzing, application security, and insider risk detection.

As part of Microsoft's broader AI initiative, you'll work on some of the most interesting and challenging AI questions of our time, contributing to systems with true artificial intelligence across agents, applications, services, and infrastructure. The role requires a methodical approach to problem-solving, strong backend technology skills, and familiarity with AI's unique security challenges.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $119,800 - $234,700 (higher in SF and NYC areas), along with comprehensive benefits including healthcare, educational resources, and investment options.
