Service Engineer

Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is seeking a Critical Infrastructure Platform Services (CIPS) Engineer to join their team. This role is crucial in delivering core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform.

The position involves managing CIPE infrastructure across global datacenters, handling demand planning, capacity utilization, and overseeing physical infrastructure including supply chain, hardware, power, security, and workflow teams. The focus is on automation, data-driven engineering, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.

As a Platform Engineer, you'll work with cutting-edge technologies, collaborating across teams to deliver innovative solutions. The infrastructure spans over 150 datacenters and 1 million servers, supporting more than 1 billion customers and 20 million businesses globally.

Key responsibilities include supporting hybrid CI/CD DevOps virtualized infrastructure, maintaining automated operating systems, configuring enterprise-class server systems, and ensuring 24/7/365 service operations. The role requires strong technical expertise in Windows & Linux Server OS, Hyper-V, Active Directory, and PowerShell scripting.
