Description For Site Reliability Engineer

Microsoft Security is seeking a Site Reliability Engineer to join their team focused on ensuring virtualization services are secure and reliable. This role is part of Microsoft's Security organization, which is dedicated to making the world safer through end-to-end security solutions. The position combines DevOps practices with security focus, working on Azure Active Directory, Identity & Access Management, and enterprise infrastructure.

The role involves supporting Microsoft's internal virtualization platform, implementing automation for service health improvement, and managing incident response. You'll work with cutting-edge technologies in cloud computing, particularly Azure services, while ensuring the security and reliability of systems used by hundreds of thousands of employees.

Responsibilities For Site Reliability Engineer

  • Provide technical engineering for a cross-functional, high-visibility operations team supporting the Virtualization platform
  • Identify and drive the implementation of automation opportunities
  • Own, triage, investigate, and resolve service issues
  • Read, write, configure, design, and script end-to-end service telemetry
  • Author functional and technical documentation
  • Stay current on new technologies, methods, and procedures
  • Participates in live site incidents discussions and document solutions

Requirements For Site Reliability Engineer

Kubernetes
  • A minimum of 6 months experience working as devops
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field
  • Good understanding of Azure cloud engineering, Azure network, Azure compute, Azure Storage services and Azure DevOps CI/CD
  • Strong skills in PowerShell scripting, Azure PowerShell
  • Hands on experience with building data queries, analytics with database technologies
  • Familiarity with identity and security, particularly with Azure Active Directory
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) principles
  • Strong collaboration skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
