Microsoft's Customer Experience and Success (CEnS) organization is seeking a Technical Support Engineer specializing in SQL Engine to join their team of over 15,000 employees worldwide. This role is part of Microsoft's mission to deliver exceptional customer experiences and technical support for their Data and AI solutions.

As a Technical Support Engineer, you'll be responsible for providing advanced technical support for Microsoft SQL Server and related technologies. You'll work directly with corporate customers to resolve complex technical issues, collaborate with R&D teams, and contribute to knowledge base articles and technical documentation. The role requires deep expertise in SQL Server administration, performance tuning, and high availability solutions.

The position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of customer support and database technologies, requiring both technical depth and strong communication skills. Responsibilities For Technical Support Engineer- SQL Engine

  • Provide advanced troubleshooting to analyze problems and develop solutions for customer needs
  • Maintain ownership of escalated, technically complex mission critical issues until resolved
  • Maintain strong working knowledge of products and report software bugs
  • Engage and collaborate with other Microsoft groups including R&D Team
  • Create advanced online technical content including Knowledge Base articles
  • Provide consulting services to partners and customers
  • Participate in planned team-wide shift rotations including after-hours on-call responsibilities

Requirements For Technical Support Engineer- SQL Engine

MySQL
  • Bachelor's degree in STEM field with significant computing element
  • MS SQL Server DBA experience
  • Experience in installing, upgrading & updating SQL Server
  • Knowledge of High Availability & DR solutions
  • Understanding of Database properties and advanced configuration options
  • Strong troubleshooting skills for complex technical issues
  • Great interpersonal and communication skills
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Ability to handle high pressure situations
