Description For Software Engineer Co-Op - Hybrid
Founded in 1994 and celebrating 30 years in business, Mindex is a software development company specializing in agile software development, cloud professional services, and creating innovative products. As a Software Engineer Co-Op, you'll join our agile delivery team to perform, analyze, design, program, test, and implement new and existing software applications. The primary focus is on building and testing database-backed web services in a Java/Oracle environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop tasks to break down work accurately
- Create/update enterprise software aligned with agile user stories
- Create and execute various tests, including unit tests and automation scripts
- Communicate status to scrum team members
- Debug and understand debugging tools
- Design basic functions with awareness of overall service architecture
- Maintain and create documentation
- Partner with scrum team and stakeholders
Requirements:
- Three years of education and/or experience in software development
- Familiarity with Java, .NET, Python, and/or JavaScript
- Experience with test automation
- Knowledge of object-oriented programming and REST web services
- Familiarity with relational databases and Agile/Scrum methodologies
This hybrid position offers a salary of $22/hour and various perks, including tickets to local sporting events, teambuilding events, and access to Udemy online training courses. The role is for both spring and summer semesters of 2025.

Responsibilities For Software Engineer Co-Op - Hybrid
- Develops tasks to accurately break down the work required
- Creates or updates enterprise software in alignment with agile user stories and associated acceptance criteria
- Creates / modifies / executes tests including unit tests, integration tests, test automation scripts, manual system, and regression test scripts
- Communicates status of deliverables to scrum team members
- Understands the basics of debugging and the tools used for it
- Designs basic functions with an awareness of overall service architecture
- Assists in maintaining existing documentation and effectively documents own work
- Partners with scrum team and stakeholders to provide feedback and assist in plans, designs, specifications, source code, test scripts, and documentation
