Responsibilities For Senior II Controls Engineer (Instrumentation)

  • Lead development and implementation of IEC 61131-3 standard PLC programs and interactive user interfaces
  • Lead cross functional projects for system/unit root cause and failure analysis
  • Lead design, specification, and verification of controls system components
  • Oversee collaboration with cross-functional teams and senior management
  • Oversee development of production procedures, instructions and testing standards
  • Lead collaboration with suppliers and vendors
  • Lead projects to evaluate component performance through various test phases
  • Oversee development of test protocols and design verification testing
  • Lead software/hardware system integration and commissioning initiatives
  • Provide expert level technical guidance and coaching to team members

Requirements For Senior II Controls Engineer (Instrumentation)

  • 4-year degree in relevant electrical discipline (Controls Systems, Electrical, Electronics or similar)
  • 6-8+ years of experience in controls, electrical, instrumentations, or relevant discipline
  • Expert level proficiency with PLC or embedded system programming
  • Expert level proficiency with Ethernet Networking and industrial communication protocols
  • Experience in designing and troubleshooting control panels and PCB design
  • Experience with CODESYS and HMI design (asset)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Professional engineer (P.Eng) registration in BC or eligibility required
  • Legally able to work in Canada
