We are seeking a motivated AI Engineer to join our innovative team building the next generation of conversational AI agents for business workflow automation. Our platform is an AI-native help desk that enables human agents to collaborate with AI, progressively increasing automation capabilities. The system handles both reactive and proactive automation across multiple channels including calls, SMS, and email, while maintaining coherent conversation threads.
As an AI Engineer, you'll be instrumental in shaping the AI engine at the core of our platform. This role offers a unique opportunity to join an ambitious early-stage team where you'll work on cutting-edge AI systems at scale. You'll be responsible for the full AI development lifecycle, from research and prototyping to production deployment, while ensuring robust performance monitoring and scalability.
The ideal candidate should have strong experience in building and deploying AI systems, with particular value placed on LLM-based techniques. You'll work closely with backend engineers to integrate AI modules into the broader platform architecture. This position requires someone who thrives in fast-paced startup environments and takes ownership of their projects from conception to completion.

Responsibilities For AI Engineer
- End-to-End AI Development: Research and prototype advanced agentic AI, then turn prototypes into robust production services
- Monitoring & Analytics: Build metrics, dashboards, and alerting to track AI performance and detect issues early
- Testing & Validation: Develop test frameworks (unit, integration) and validation datasets for continuous evaluation
- Collaborative Architecture: Partner with backend engineers to integrate AI modules into the broader platform
- Scaling: Ensure the AI infrastructure can handle growing data volumes and real-time interactions with minimal latency
Requirements For AI Engineer
- Hands-on experience building and shipping AI systems at scale (LLM-based techniques a plus)
- Track record of achievement and initiative - someone who sees projects through to completion
- Comfort working in high-growth, early-stage startup environments
- On-site in San Francisco, 5 days/week

- Salary: $150k – $250k
- Equity: 0.20% – 1.20%
