They're seeking an AI Engineer to join their team, specifically working with Yape's AI/ML initiatives. The role requires a seasoned professional with 4+ years of experience in Data Science and Applied AI, who will report directly to the Lead ML Engineer. The position demands strong technical autonomy in designing and implementing end-to-end AI solutions, with expertise in Python, GenAI/LLMs, and modern development practices. The ideal candidate should be capable of understanding business problems, proposing data-driven solutions, and implementing them in production environments. Responsibilities For AI Engineer
- Participate in Yape's AI/ML team initiatives
- Report directly to the Lead ML Engineer
- Design, implement and scale Data Science and AI solutions with strong technical autonomy
- Receive business problems, ask the right questions to understand the problem
- Propose data-based solutions and bring them to production using modern tools
Requirements For AI Engineer
- 4+ years of experience in Data Science and Applied AI projects
- Mastery of Python for analysis, modeling and pipeline scripting
- Experience integrating or consuming GenAI/LLMs via APIs (ideal: Azure OpenAI, OpenAI)
- Ability to work with technical autonomy, designing end-to-end solutions
- Knowledge of good development practices (versioning, testing, logging, modularization)
- Ideal: experience using Databricks jobs, API creation, etc.
