Data Engineer (L5) - Product (Device)

Netflix is seeking a Data Engineer (L5) for the Device pod within the Streaming Data Engineering team. This role focuses on supporting Netflix's core data assets, delivering high-quality business datasets and metrics, and building systems to process batch and real-time data at a large scale. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distributed data processing or software engineering of data services, familiarity with big data technologies like Spark and Flink, and excellent data intuition.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engineer efficient, adaptable, and scalable data pipelines
• Partner with engineering teams, analytics engineers, and data scientists
• Maintain and improve existing pipelines for scalability and maintainability
• Support and evolve the device data model
• Deliver high-quality datasets and metrics

Requirements:

• Mastery of at least one major programming language (e.g., Java, Scala, Python)
• Comfortable working with SQL
• Strong background in distributed data processing or software engineering of data services
• Familiarity with big data technologies like Spark and Flink
• Solid DevOps and Operation fundamentals
• Understanding of the device lifecycle
• Excellent data intuition and passion for data quality
