Job Description

Netflix's Open Connect (OC) team is seeking a Geo and Network Intelligence Software Engineer to join their critical infrastructure group. This role focuses on mapping devices to real-world locations via IP Geolocation and leveraging network measurement insights to deliver business value. As part of the GNI team, you'll work on projects like Probnik (network measurement framework) and Fast.com speed test. The position involves building large-scale distributed systems, managing data pipelines, and solving complex networking challenges. Netflix's CDN delivers approximately 15% of all downstream internet traffic, making this a high-impact role. Requirements For Geo and Network Intelligence Software Engineer (L5)

Python
  • 7+ years of professional software development experience in large-scale distributed systems
  • Proficiency with a modern programming language
  • Extensive knowledge of core networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, BGP, TLS)
  • Deep understanding of how ISPs connect to each other and the Internet
  • Experience querying, analyzing, and presenting data in large-scale data lakes (Trino, SparkSQL, pySpark, etc.)
  • In-depth insight developing software or protocols that enhance or prioritize member privacy
