Netflix is seeking a Software Engineer (L6) for their Ads Platform Engineering team. This role is part of Netflix's new ad-supported tier launched in November 2022. The Ads Platform Engineering team builds advertising systems and integrations that power the delivery of ads using Netflix's world-class content delivery ecosystem. They use a unique mix of client and server-side ad insertions, state-of-the-art content delivery systems, ad encoding recipes, content understanding, and metadata.
The ideal candidate should have well-grounded domain experience in at least one of these areas:
- Sales Enablement: Guaranteed and non-Guaranteed inventory reservations and management for both Direct sales and Programmatic.
- Forecasting and Simulation: Familiarity with Forecasting models for inventory management, enabling sales operations, and both reservation and auction-based buying models at scale.
- Ads Measurement: Experience managing large-scale 3p measurement integrations for verification, reach, brand studies, and attribution along with their underlying identity exchanges in a privacy-safe way. Building out 1st party solutions for advertisers to understand campaign outcomes.
- Clean Rooms: Experience working with clean rooms and industry-leading privacy-enhancing technology for multi-party data sharing.
Additional requirements include:
- Broad knowledge of ad tech and advertising landscape, programmatic advertising, and digital marketing trends.
- Experience working closely with ad operations to enable campaign setup, targeting, reporting, and advertiser needs.
- Development experience with cloud-based applications and modern programming languages (preferably object-oriented).
- Familiarity with A/B testing and experimentation.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
Nice-to-haves include:
- Contributions to ads industry technology standards or industry consortium efforts.
- Familiarity with legal compliance and changing landscape of ads regulations worldwide.
- Experience working in the CTV space and knowledge of its unique constraints.
