Description For Software Engineer Intern, Implant

Neuralink is at the forefront of brain-computer interface technology, developing revolutionary devices that create a direct connection between the human brain and computers. As a Software Engineer Intern on the Brain Interfaces Software Team, you'll be working on critical software systems that power their groundbreaking neural implant technology.

The role involves developing and maintaining various aspects of Neuralink's software stack, from SDK development to manufacturing line acceptance software and monitoring systems. You'll be working with a team responsible for the end-to-end software stack that manages implant communication, verification, manufacturing, and monitoring.

This is an exceptional opportunity for someone who wants to make a real impact in the field of neural technology. You'll be working on software that directly contributes to restoring movement to the paralyzed and sight to the blind. The position requires strong programming skills, particularly in Python and C or Rust, along with a solid understanding of Linux/Unix systems.

The ideal candidate should be mission-driven, resourceful, and have a strong sense of urgency to deliver results. You'll be working in a meritocratic environment that values honest and transparent communication, where the best ideas win out. The company culture emphasizes rigorous thinking and thoughtful inquiry, and team members who excel are given opportunities to take on more responsibility.

Benefits include comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance, commuter benefits, meals provided, and more. While some benefits like equity, 401(k), and parental leave are excluded for interns, the experience and impact potential make this an invaluable opportunity for aspiring software engineers interested in cutting-edge neurotechnology.

The position is based in Fremont, California, and requires on-site work. The hourly rate is $35/hour, and while relocation assistance isn't provided for interns, the opportunity to work on revolutionary technology that could change countless lives makes this an extraordinary internship opportunity.
