Software Engineer (Junior & New Grad)

NewsBreak, the nation's premier local news app, is seeking a Software Engineer (Junior & New Grad) to join our team. As a Series-C unicorn startup headquartered in Mountain View, California, we're revolutionizing how readers access and engage with local content.

In this role, you'll: • Assist in architecting, designing, and implementing features for NewsBreak products at massive scale • Help define and implement content processing, management, and delivery processes • Optimize distributed backend services for recommendation user experience • Collaborate with Machine Learning Experts on state-of-the-art systems

We're looking for candidates with: • BS with 2+ years experience or MS in Computer Science or related fields • Proficiency in Java/C++, object-oriented programming, and component-oriented architecture • Experience with software development processes

Preferred qualifications include industry experience in recommendation, search, online advertising, or content management systems, and building large-scale distributed backend systems.
