Job Description

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Principal Network Engineer for their Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program at Schriever Space Force Base. This crucial role supports the U.S. President, Secretary of Defense, and combatant commanders in missile defense operations. The position involves planning, deploying, integrating, and testing upgrades to the S8.2 C2BMC network at operational sites.

The ideal candidate will be a proven network engineer with extensive experience in network architecture design, development, and testing methods. They must possess strong skills in network automation, including both development and deployment of network and management systems. Experience with Ansible and various monitoring, network diagnostics, and analytics tools is essential.

The role requires a Top Secret security clearance and various technical certifications, including DoD 8140 IAT Level II or higher and Juniper certifications. The position involves working with cutting-edge defense technology and contributing to national security through missile defense capabilities.

Responsibilities For Principal Engineer Network – Global Network Engineer (25-316)

  • Plan, deploy, integrate, and test upgrades to the S8.2 C2BMC network at operational sites
  • Travel to remote locations to perform network installations
  • Follow Program configuration management processes
  • Independently troubleshoot issues
  • Provide status updates to Program personnel
  • Network architecture design, development, and testing
  • Network automation and management systems development
  • Create, test, and deploy new and upgraded capabilities

Requirements For Principal Engineer Network – Global Network Engineer (25-316)

Linux
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related field with 5 years experience (or Master's with 3 years, or 9 years experience)
  • Active Top Secret security clearance
  • DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher
  • Juniper certifications (JNCIA, JNCIS, JNCIP, JNCIE)
  • Experience with network management and monitoring systems
  • Experience with protocol analyzers/sniffers
  • Understanding of authentication & encryption methods
  • Knowledge of DoD security practices
  • Ability to travel up to 10%
