Job Description

NVIDIA is seeking a Principal Hardware SoC Architect for their Tegra team to help define next-generation System-on-Chip architectures. This role sits at the intersection of artificial intelligence, automotive computing, and high-performance computing applications. The position involves working with world-class systems architects and deep learning experts to develop the most advanced SoCs in the world.

The role requires deep expertise in hardware architecture, with responsibilities spanning the complete lifecycle from conception to post-silicon support. You'll be working cross-functionally with software, ASIC design, verification, physical design, VLSI and platform teams to create innovative solutions that combine NVIDIA GPUs, custom processors, and accelerators into single-chip solutions.

As a Principal SoC Architect, you'll be responsible for driving architecture/software/hardware co-design, performing detailed performance analysis, developing architectural specifications, and ensuring proper implementation through validation and verification. The position requires strong technical leadership in areas like automotive safety, interconnects, memory controllers, virtualization, power management, and system security.

The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of relevant experience and a proven track record in SoC architecture definition. Responsibilities For Principal SoC Architect - Hardware

  • Hardware architecture end-to-end lifecycle ownership
  • Drive Architecture/Software/Hardware co-design and collaboration on features set
  • Perform performance, perf @ watt, perf / sq. mm modeling or analysis
  • Architecture and requirements specification authoring and System C model development
  • Architectural validation plan and execution
  • Review downstream specifications and verification plans
  • Post-Silicon production support with silicon debug
  • Industry standards tracking & 3rd party IP technical evaluation
  • Patenting novel parts of system architecture

Requirements For Principal SoC Architect - Hardware

Linux
  • Bachelors, Masters or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering
  • 15+ years of architecture, design and/or verification experience
  • Industry expertise in SoC architecture definition
  • Experience with Clocks, Resets, Automotive safety, Interconnects, Memory Controller, Boot, Virtualization
  • Experience with Power Management, Security, System Performance, IO technologies
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work at all levels of architecture definition
