Job Description

NVIDIA, a global leader in accelerated computing and AI technology, is seeking a Senior CAD Engineer to join their Advanced Technologies Group's Standard Cell Library development team. This role represents an exciting opportunity to work at the cutting edge of process technologies, combining electrical engineering expertise with software development skills.

The position offers a comprehensive compensation package including a competitive base salary range of $136,000 - $264,500 (depending on level), equity, and extensive benefits. Based in either Santa Clara, CA or Austin, TX, this hybrid role puts you at the heart of NVIDIA's innovation centers.

As a Senior CAD Engineer, you'll be instrumental in developing and optimizing standard cell templates, implementing design for manufacturing methodologies, and improving library validation processes. The role requires expertise in VLSI design, CMOS layout, and mosfet device behavior, along with strong programming skills in languages like Python, C++, Perl, and specialized CAD tools.

Responsibilities For Senior CAD Engineer, Physical Design

  • Develop and optimize standard cell templates in new process technologies
  • Define and promote design for manufacturing (DFM) methodologies
  • Improve library validation and release flow
  • Write scripts using Perl, Python, tcl, Cadence SKILL, and C++
  • Work with CAD tool vendors to evaluate new tools, resolve bugs and improve usability
  • Partner with cross functional teams to continuously improve methodologies and efficiencies

Requirements For Senior CAD Engineer, Physical Design

Python
  • B.S or M.S. in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience) with 5 years industry experience
  • In-depth understanding of mosfet device behavior, CMOS layout, and VLSI design
  • Experience working with standard cell design & layout
  • Great interpersonal skills
  • A passion for providing excellent support for end-users
