Description For Senior Platform Firmware Architect - Notebook

NVIDIA, known as "the AI computing company," is seeking a Senior Platform Firmware Architect for their Notebook products. This role involves defining platform firmware architecture, working with architects and customers to develop requirements, collaborating with internal teams and IBVs, driving reliability and optimization, and owning firmware delivery in terms of quality, reliability, and performance.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Defining platform firmware architecture for Notebook segments
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to align architecture with customer requirements
  • Ensuring speed of light product development
  • Driving reliability and optimization in firmware architecture
  • Owning firmware delivery to customers
  • Designing solutions using industry standards specifications
  • Contributing to and driving open standards
  • Working closely with hardware teams

Requirements:

  • 12+ years of experience in client firmware and platform software development
  • BS, MS, or PhD in EE/CS or related field
  • Hands-on experience with PC boot firmware, EC, UEFI, Battery and PD controller firmware
  • Proven record of delivering firmware for Notebook products
  • Strong knowledge of Notebook computer architecture
  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python
  • Experience with SCM (e.g., Git, Perforce) and project management tools like Jira
  • Excellent communication skills and strong work ethic

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with x86 or ARM system architecture
  • Solid experience delivering Notebook products
  • Experience working with leading vendors of EC SOC, PD controller vendors
