NXP Semiconductors, a global leader in secure connectivity solutions for embedded applications, is seeking an Application Engineer to join their team in Chandler, AZ. This role combines software engineering with hardware expertise, focusing on semiconductor design and development for the electronic communications industry. The position offers an exciting opportunity to work with cutting-edge pressure sensor technologies and collaborate with major automotive manufacturers.

The ideal candidate will lead product architecture definition for pressure sensor devices, working closely with Tier-A auto manufacturers and OEMs. You'll be responsible for developing engineering specifications, conducting validation, and taking products from concept to production. The role requires expertise in both hardware and software systems, with a strong foundation in embedded systems programming, particularly using C for MCUs.

Responsibilities For Application Engineer

  • Lead product architecture definition for portfolio of pressure sensor devices
  • Develop engineering requirements specifications, test, and validation plans for sensor products
  • Work with Tier-A auto manufacturers and OEMs
  • Establish new hardware architecture and software system for sensor products
  • Take products from concept to production
  • Collaborate with ASIC and MEMS design teams
  • Translate requirements into design and product specifications
  • Validate definition during resilicon design phase via modeling
  • Support rigorous failure/root cause analysis on pressure sensor and system
  • Drive new design wins for new products

Requirements For Application Engineer

  • Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field
  • 3 years of experience in job offered, Applications and SDK Engineer, Systems Engineer or related occupation
  • Experience with C for MCUs (S08, 32-bit ARM)
  • Experience with Wireless communication protocols (sub-GHz, BLE, Sigfox)
  • Experience with Wired communication protocols (SPI, I2C, SENT)
  • Experience with Software validation (unit and integration tests)
  • Experience with Algorithms
  • Experience with Sensor data processing
