Staff Software Engineer - Protocols (Auth0)

Okta is seeking a Staff Software Engineer for their Protocols team within Core Identity, a critical engineering organization responsible for the heart of the Auth0 application. The role involves working with NodeJS backend (Javascript/Typescript), MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis, running on AWS and Azure. The Protocols team's mission is to enable Auth0 and its customers to solve identity problems with standards-based solutions.

As a Staff Software Engineer, you'll gain expertise in identity and security while building innovative features, improve and refactor core applications, and work in a highly collaborative environment. The position requires 6+ years of software development experience, practical Node.js experience, and expertise in designing, building, and maintaining APIs or libraries.

The ideal candidate should be passionate about distributed systems, write well-tested code, have cloud environment experience, and bring a product-focused mindset. Experience in identity and access management (IAM), working with remote teams, and knowledge of security engineering are considered advantages.
