Description For Senior Support Engineer

OpenAI is seeking a Senior Support Engineer to join their Technical Support team in San Francisco. This role is crucial in supporting strategic enterprise accounts and solving complex technical challenges. As part of the best technical troubleshooting team at OpenAI, you'll provide expert guidance to both Customers and Engineering teams.

The position offers a competitive salary range of $220,000 to $280,000, plus equity and comprehensive benefits. Working in a hybrid model (3 days in office), you'll be responsible for handling high-difficulty, low-volume technical issues for OpenAI's most important API customers. The role requires 5+ years of experience in technical support or software engineering, with a strong background in application development.

You'll serve as a technical advocate, providing deep troubleshooting assistance and educating customers on platform usage. The role involves partnering with engineering teams, coordinating resources across multiple teams, and operationalizing solutions at scale. You'll build strong relationships with customer leaders and ensure their applications' success.

Key requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, proven experience in customer relationship building, and strong technical problem-solving skills. The ideal candidate should be comfortable with frequent context switching, have experience with API platforms, and enjoy diving deep into technical challenges.
