Oracle is seeking talented Advanced Degree Software Engineers to join their Database Technologies organizations. This role is part of their new college graduate program, specifically designed for students completing their Master's or Doctorate degrees by June 2026.

The Database Technologies team at Oracle is responsible for creating data management technologies that power the modern economy, including the widely-used Oracle Database, Database Services in Public and Private Clouds, and the Oracle Autonomous Database. The code you write will impact critical systems used by billions of people across various industries including banking, healthcare, telecommunications, and government services.

As an Advanced Degree Software Engineer, you'll work on sophisticated systems programming challenges, including distributed databases, scalability, high availability, and security. Responsibilities For Advanced Degree Software Engineer - Database Technologies

  • Full stack development of databases including Oracle NoSQL Database, Oracle Times-Ten In-Memory Database, and Oracle Database
  • Work on distributed databases, scalability, and high availability
  • Develop security, analytics, and data warehousing solutions
  • Implementation of automatic parallelization, networking, and replication
  • Work on distributed caching, transaction engines, and data engines
  • Develop SQL execution, query optimization, and language design
  • Implement in-database machine-learning and AI algorithms
  • Work on Oracle Engineered Systems using technologies like Persistent Memory and RDMA

Requirements For Advanced Degree Software Engineer - Database Technologies

Java
  • Completed a Master's or Doctorate's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent by June 2026
  • Strong proficiency in C, C++ and Java
  • Ability to implement sophisticated algorithms and data structures
  • Experience in Systems Programming related areas
  • Completed at least one internship or equivalent practical experience
  • Must reside in the United States and/or attend a university in the US
  • Able to obtain work authorization in the US in 2026
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA
