Job Description
As a Senior Software Engineer at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), you'll play a crucial role in developing key technical components and cloud services. You'll work on services enabling streaming providers to move workloads to OCI, including playback, content augmentation, video transcoding and packaging, content delivery, streaming analytics, and flexible billing & cost analytics.
This position offers a unique opportunity to build a competitive product from the ground up and extend OCI's reach into the media and entertainment industry. You'll collaborate with engineering leaders to shape success strategies, leveraging your experience to drive progress.
The role requires experience in building, operating, and driving cloud services at a technical level. Experience with video playback, encoding technologies, content delivery using CDNs, and live streaming is advantageous. As a Senior Software Engineer (IC3), you'll need a proven track record of success and technical depth in software development.

Responsibilities For Software Developer 3
- Cloud service design for availability, scalability, observability, and testability
- Implementation, validation and documentation of services and their component microservices
- Collaboration within the engineering team to deliver and operate cloud services
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices
- Launching new cloud services and establishing operational excellence
- Work collaboratively to realize and achieve the technical vision of the team
- Ability to engage with geographically distributed engineering teams
- Ensuring compliance to software development standards, processes, and best practices
Requirements For Software Developer 3
- BS/CS Computer Science or related field and 3+ years software development experience
- Large/enterprise scale software development and engineering experience
- Experience with cloud services and distributed systems
- Experience as a lead developer in design, implementation, and operation of cloud services
- Experience collaborating with geo-distributed teams
- Training and experience in software implementation, code and design review
- Designing for availability, observability, scalability, testability, recoverability
