Job Description

Oracle's Technical Operations Engineer position is a critical role within the OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure) team, focusing on supporting Sovereign realms. This position involves working in a 24/7 shift rotation environment, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The role is part of a dynamic team that ensures the highest quality service delivery to customers through collaboration with support, service owners, and global engineering teams.

The position offers unique opportunities to work with massive-scale, integrated cloud services in a distributed, multi-tenant environment. You'll be responsible for maintaining and operating over 200 OCI services, handling incidents, and executing change requests to enable new functionality while maintaining realm compliance.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Linux/Unix knowledge and a passion for cloud computing. The role requires a combination of technical expertise and customer service skills, as you'll be working with various teams globally to resolve issues and improve services.

Responsibilities For Technical Operations Engineer

  • Acts as an internal point of contact for one or more Sovereign realm(s)
  • Operates and performs maintenance for over 200 OCI services
  • Monitors auto-cut alerts and troubleshoots through the use of runbooks
  • Executes change requests to enable new functionality and maintain realm compliance
  • Ensures timely resolution of incidents, service requests and change requests
  • Escalates to and collaborates with global service and engineering teams
  • Utilises incident and problem management processes to mitigate/resolve major incidents
  • Suggests and documents process improvements
