Staff Engineer & Technical Lead – Ontology

Parable is seeking a staff-level engineer to lead the Ontology team as a hands-on technical lead. This pivotal role focuses on managing the core of their platform, responsible for formalizing Parable's enterprise schema and maintaining data hydration from raw sources. The position involves close collaboration with Raw Data, Context Mining, and App teams.

The company's mission is to make time matter by providing CEOs of 1000+ employee companies with comprehensive time-tracking insights across strategies, projects, and processes. Having achieved $2M ARR within 6 months of launch and secured $17M in funding from notable investors like HOF Capital and Story Ventures, Parable is well-positioned for growth.

Technically, Parable operates as an enterprise operating system, processing siloed workplace data into a structured enterprise ontology. Each customer enjoys a dedicated GCP environment with isolated infrastructure. The tech stack includes Cloud Run Jobs/Compute Engine, Pub/Sub, Cloud Storage, Memorystore, BigQuery/Cloud SQL, and an Iceberg-based lake, primarily using Python/TypeScript and Rust.
