Job Description
Parafin is dedicated to empowering small businesses by providing them with accessible financial tools through seamless integrations with platforms like DoorDash, Amazon, Worldpay, and Mindbody. As a Software Engineer, you will be instrumental in building, scaling, and maintaining the financial infrastructure that supports Parafin's embedded financial products. This role offers the opportunity to work across various engineering teams, designing and developing secure, high-performing systems, tackling critical technical challenges, mentoring engineers, and influencing technology strategy. You'll be building a modern banking experience for small and medium businesses from the ground up, integrating ML Infrastructure to the platform, and developing features end-to-end.
The role includes designing scalable backend systems, driving technical projects from ideation to deployment, and collaborating with Product, Data Science, and Operations teams. Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and reliable backend systems
- Own and drive technical projects from ideation to deployment
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Product, Data Science, and Operations
- Improve system performance, security, and reliability through continuous optimization
- Mentor and guide other engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence
Requirements
- 2+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in fintech or financial services
- Strong proficiency in backend development, ideally with Python, Go, or similar languages
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP) and scalable system design
- Deep understanding of distributed systems, databases, and API development
- Passion for building impactful financial products that empower small businesses
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science (or related field of study)
