Job Description
Peloton is seeking a Senior Android Engineer to join their Gaming team, focusing on developing fitness-based gaming experiences for Peloton Members. This role is part of the Peloton Product Engineering team and offers an exciting opportunity to work on the flagship Peloton experience for Bike and Tread products.
As a Senior Android Engineer in the Gaming division, you will:
- Develop robust platforms for fitness-based games
- Deliver high-quality experiences across various markets
- Collaborate with API and Unity teams to ensure seamless integration
- Maintain coding standards across the Android application
- Mentor and support the growth of mid-level and junior engineers
The ideal candidate should have:
- 6+ years of software development experience, with 4+ years specifically in Android development
- Strong knowledge of Kotlin and Java
- Expertise in Android architecture patterns (MVVM, MVI), threading, and performance optimization
- Experience with REST APIs, Bluetooth protocols, and protocol buffers
- Ability to translate product requirements into effective code implementations
- Skills in managing complex cross-team projects and communicating technical solutions
This position offers a competitive salary range of $172,100 to $223,800 USD, based on experience and qualifications. Peloton provides a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, 401k, stock options, and various wellness perks.
The role is based in New York City and follows a hybrid work model, requiring in-office presence three days a week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Responsibilities For Senior Android Engineer, Gaming
- Work on the Peloton Product Engineering team, specifically with the Game Studio
- Build fitness-based gaming experiences for Peloton Members
- Develop a robust platform for games
- Deliver best-in-class fitness experiences across several different markets
- Iterate on the process, technology, and communication throughout the team for Gaming products
- Work alongside API and Unity team members
- Ensure Gaming experiences are well integrated and maintain coding standards across the Android application
- Assist and grow mid/junior engineers
Requirements For Senior Android Engineer, Gaming
- 6+ years of software development experience
- 4+ years of Android development experience
- Solid experience interacting with REST APIs
- Solid understanding of Kotlin and Java
- Solid understanding of architecture patterns, namely MVVM and MVI
- Solid understanding of Android threading and processing
- Solid understanding of bluetooth protocols
- Solid understanding of protocol buffers
- Experience with profiling UI, memory, and threading in Android
- Ability to effectively translate Product, UX, and UI requirements into code implementations
- Ability to accomplish complex engineering tasks independently
- Ability to manage complex cross-team coordinations and work closely with product owners
- Ability to evaluate and communicate different engineering solutions and trade-offs
- B.S. in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent years of work experience
