Responsibilities For Development Engineer III

  • Design community and utility-scale solar PV and storage projects using AutoCAD Civil 3D, PVCase, and other design tools
  • Generate and review electrical diagrams for solar and storage applications
  • Generate performance analysis models using PVSyst
  • Complete electrical calculations for development stage designs
  • Conduct peer reviews of deliverables
  • Advise & guide less experienced engineering team members
  • Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
  • Review and approve equipment vendors and products
  • Create and maintain project documentation
  • Review technical reports and interpret utility requirements

Requirements For Development Engineer III

  • Four-year engineering degree from an ABET-accredited university
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience with community and utility-scale solar PV
  • Knowledge of photovoltaic system design and National Electric Code
  • Ability to evaluate site diligence documents
  • Familiarity with civil site design practices
  • Knowledge of utility processes and 3-phase AC electrical system design
  • Operational knowledge of AutoCAD, PVsyst, and related PV design software
  • Strong working knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing programs
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
