This role is responsible for working with Art Designers and Animators to realize characters in digital form, including shaping 3D geometry and delivering well-designed animation controls.

The position involves three main disciplines: modeling, rig building, and rig application. Modeling covers building various characters and objects, rigging involves creating controls for movement, and rig building focuses on constructing and supporting rigs for multiple characters.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Using modeling software like ZBrush to sculpt and refine 3D models
  • Designing and maintaining modeling topology for character deformations
  • Collaborating with Animators to provide and refine character articulation
  • Creative use of deformers to achieve specific deformations
  • Designing and maintaining Shared Rigs for similar characters
  • Writing Python scripts to improve workflow
  • Brainstorming new techniques for user interfaces, deformation tools, and rigging solutions
  • Troubleshooting technical issues in file structure and software pipelines

The ideal candidate should have demonstrated experience in at least two of the main disciplines, with strong artistic skills for modeling and rigging, or a background in programming and math for rig construction.

This position offers a competitive salary range of $65,450 to $84,700 per year, with the actual offer depending on factors such as internal equity, geographic region, and job-related skills and experience.
