Our team is seeking a Heating Systems Engineer to take charge of our critical gyrotron and microwave systems for plasma heating. This role combines cutting-edge technology with practical engineering challenges, requiring expertise in high-power microwave systems and fusion technology.

As our Heating Systems Engineer, you'll be responsible for the complete lifecycle of our heating systems - from technical specifications and procurement to installation and optimization. You'll work directly with physicists and engineers to ensure optimal performance, while also focusing on streamlining processes for scale-up.

Responsibilities For Heating Systems Engineer (Gyrotrons)

  • Write technical specifications for the heating system, including material and quality assurance requirements
  • Plan and integrate heating systems to meet performance and energy targets
  • Lead gyrotron and microwave system installation processes
  • Develop testing and commissioning protocols for gyrotron operations
  • Collaborate with physicists and engineers to optimize gyrotron performance
  • Streamline transition from prototype development to full-scale production

Requirements For Heating Systems Engineer (Gyrotrons)

  • Expertise in gyrotrons or high-power microwave systems with experience in magnetic confinement fusion
  • Skills in full lifecycle of gyrotron technology: design, procurement, installation, and operation
  • Experience in collaborating with suppliers, design firms, and manufacturers
  • Must be based in or willing to relocate to Munich (Germany), Culham (UK) or Villigen (Switzerland)
