Description For Engineering Technician

Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. is seeking an Engineering Technician to join their Validation Team within the central SoC digital hardware organization. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality of SoC silicon and involves working closely with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers.

The position requires hands-on experience with silicon handling and running regression tests in the lab environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting engineers in various capacities, including setting up and debugging post-silicon hardware development platforms, managing test environments, and ensuring smooth laboratory operations.

Key responsibilities include configuring test platforms, debugging hardware issues, managing inventory, and maintaining lab equipment. The role requires technical proficiency with Windows PCs, networking protocols, and various testing equipment. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working independently while maintaining strong communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities For Engineering Technician

  • Set up test platforms and PC connections
  • Setup and debug issues with post-silicon hardware dev platforms
  • Run regression tests and debug experiments
  • Reconfigure HW of setup as per need
  • Manage inventory of parts and tools
  • Support lab service requests
  • Troubleshoot faulty electrical and mechanical systems
  • Install changeover kits for different projects
  • Support IT & lab maintenance activities
  • Ensure lab cleanliness, safety, and organization
  • Handle post-silicon testing, characterization, and regression in the lab

Requirements For Engineering Technician

  • High school completed or minimum 2 years of experience as an electro-mechanical technician
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Familiar with Windows PCs, basic networking protocols, and networking hardware
  • Physical ability to transport and install equipment weighing at least 25 lbs
  • Bachelor's degree OR Associate's degree and 1+ year experience OR High School Diploma and 2+ years experience
