Job Description

Qualcomm's Emulation Team is seeking a Senior FPGA Emulation Engineer to join their central SoC digital hardware organization in Cork, Ireland. This role is crucial for the development and support of SoC pre-silicon platforms, working at the intersection of hardware and software. The position requires expertise in FPGA prototyping, emulation platforms, and SoC functionality, with a particular focus on Graphics Processing.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of experience in ASIC design and emulation environments, bringing strong technical skills in RTL design using SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL. You'll be working with cutting-edge technology in a collaborative environment, interfacing with various teams including architects, designers, and software engineers.

Responsibilities For FPGA Emulation Engineer

  • Work with architects, designers, verification engineers, software engineers, and customers
  • Handle emulation platforms (FPGA Prototyping, Veloce, Palladium)
  • Work with emulation tools (Synthesis, Place and Route, Constraints, Clocking)
  • Perform system debug (Waveform generation and Content Debug support)
  • Work on SoC Functionality with focus on Graphics Processing

Requirements For FPGA Emulation Engineer

Linux
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field
  • 5+ years ASIC design, verification, or related work experience
  • Over 5 years of experience in emulation and silicon environments
  • Extensive knowledge of RTL level digital design using SystemVerilog, Verilog, and/or VHDL
  • Proficiency with Emulation/FPGA and/or SoC design, development tools, and methodologies
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
