Job Description

Qualcomm is seeking a GPU Design Engineer to join their team in Cork, Ireland, focusing on developing world-class integrated GPUs for their Snapdragon compute platforms. This role is part of Qualcomm's mission to achieve graphics and compute leadership across multiple business segments.

The position involves working on the Adreno GPU architecture, where you'll be responsible for micro-architecture and RTL design across various components including shader processing, graphics pipelines, and memory subsystems. You'll be part of a team that develops solutions for diverse platforms - from high-performance smartphones to Windows PCs, Chromebooks, VR/AR devices, and automotive applications.

As a GPU Design Engineer, you'll be tasked with optimizing hardware designs for performance, power efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. The role requires a strong background in computer architecture and hardware design, with expertise in Verilog/SystemVerilog and various development tools. You'll be involved in the entire product development cycle, from initial architecture specification to silicon validation.

Responsibilities For GPU Design Engineer - Cork, Ireland

  • Micro-architect and design RTL for blocks and modules of Adreno GPU architecture
  • Identify advanced ways to optimize hardware design for better performance, power, and cost
  • Evaluate hardware feasibilities of complex algorithms and requirements
  • Develop micro architecture and specification of new generation design
  • Develop RTL for the corresponding micro architecture
  • Provide verification and debugging activities throughout project cycles
  • Optimize silicon cost and improve clock speed
  • Troubleshoot silicon issues with products

Requirements For GPU Design Engineer - Cork, Ireland

Python
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field and 6+ years experience
  • Experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog design
  • Experience with Synopsys synthesis, low power design
  • Experience with Computer Architecture, Computer Arithmetic
  • Experience in C/C++/Python programming languages
  • Experience in designing RTL for GPU, CPU, DSP, Machine-Learning
  • Exposure to Graphics API (OpenGL, Vulkan, Direct3D)
  • Good communication skill and team player attitude
